"Today was a very special day for us.
Together with Didier, we officially handed over the funds raised through «Stories of the City» to vzw Kinderkankerfonds.
This project was born out of a love for people and for the city of Ghent. It preserves and shares the stories of the people who call this city home—their journeys, their experiences, and the moments that have shaped their lives. Today, those stories became something even more meaningful: real support for children and families going through one of the most difficult periods of their lives.
I would like to sincerely thank every participant who shared their story, every visitor who came to the exhibition, every reader of the book, and everyone who supported this project along the way. Because of you, «Stories of the City» fulfilled the purpose for which it was created.
I truly believe that every story matters. And when stories not only bring people together but also help those who need support the most, they become something truly extraordinary.
The overwhelming support, kind words, and positive feedback we have received over the past months have inspired us to continue this journey. «Stories of the City» does not end here—it is only the beginning, and we look forward to sharing many more stories in the future.
